While Air Force progresses towards a fifth generation force, our software development is being left in the past. Currently, the ADF is investing significant time and resources in developing the next suit of fleet management software tools – encompassed by ERP. However, just as they have in the past, relatively untrained personnel will manually pilot these programs. History has proven this method results in repeated costly mistakes as personnel regularly rotate through these positions. Enter Machine Learning! We should seize the opportunity now to utilise vast amounts of historical data to teach our software how best to optimise our fleet management.
