After three years of sharing women’s stories and insightful conversations, it is time for a new chapter. Propel Her Aus co-founders, Shamsa Lea and Lyndsay Freeman, are stepping back from their role at the helm of the initiative. They are handing over the pen to a new generation (and our current behind-the-scenes management team) Lily Lancaster and Leigh-Teagan Wilde who will take Propel Her forward into the future.
Thank you to Clare O’Neil, the brains behind Grounded Curiosity, who supported this bold idea from its foundation and continues to provide us this space to develop and grow.
Lyndsay: So it is official, Shamsa and I are handing over Propel Her to Lily and LT who are going to take this incredible initiative forward into the future. First of all, I want to say thank you so much to all the incredible people who have contributed to the information sharing and community engagement in this space. It was created very organically at my kitchen table with Shamsa, and with our kids running around, as a platform to share advice, to share information, and to build a network that is sometimes very hard to find. Shamsa and I are still going to support from a role on the side and we are so excited to see where the team takes this in the future. Thank you everyone!
Shamsa: Lyndsay and I were two friends that wanted to put some content out there about our own experiences as women in the military and what that means for mentoring, for goal setting and all the other things that originally started Propel Her. We had no idea it would grow to become this incredible community of women, supporting each other, sharing their stories, engaging in discourse, sometimes for the first time. We are really, really proud and honoured that you have all trusted us with your stories. Now it has become bigger that us. It was never about us, and now is the natural time, after three incredible years for Lyndsay and I to step aside and let the next generation of Propel Her women take the helm. Continue supporting them! I absolutely will always be a Propel Her girl and I’m really, really excited to see where this goes.
Thank you to Lyndsay and Shamsa – two friends who together created a community. Keep an eye out for exciting new developments as we move into Chapter Two…
